Unity in Strings
At Unity in Strings, we believe that high-quality string music education can be a powerful force for transformation—especially for young people from underserved, low-income, and marginalized communities. Music builds confidence, boosts academic performance, nurtures self-worth, and supports mental well-being. Yet too many students lack access due to financial and systemic barriers. We bridge this gap by empowering parents and guardians to take an active role in their child’s musical journey and by investing in the music educators who make that journey possible. Through inclusive programs, family learning opportunities, and fair compensation for teachers, we create an environment where educators are supported, students can thrive, and families grow stronger together—all in service of building a stronger, more connected musical community in the Brazos Valley and beyond. At Unity in Strings, music is more than a lesson—it’s a shared experience that brings families closer and communities together.
Unity in Strings is an organization with four constituent parts: the Parent and Child String Orchestra, the Family Orchestra, the Adult Orchestra, and the Brazos Valley Youth String Chamber Orchestra (Coming in 2026)
Each week at the group lessons and orchestra rehearsals there will be bonding time for all participants with a snack break scheduled in. I strongly believe that it is this "bonding time" that will build a sure foundation for this endeavor!
Wonderful visiting artists will be engaged to play concerts and give seminars. These performers will work, play and perform alongside the participants to build a strong program.

​Tuition will be free for participants in the Unity in Strings Parent and Child String Orchestra Program. A fee applies to participation in the Unity in Strings Family Orchestra and the Adult Orchestra. To ensure everyone can participate, financial assistance, including reduced tuition and scholarships, will be provided as needed.​
